The Sisters feel your cake is an important part of your wedding celebration with family and friends. Therefore, we bake our cakes fresh and never freeze them in advance. The Sisters believe each cake should taste as good as it looks.

We enjoy working with you as brides to create the perfect cake for your wedding and will do our best to make your wedding cake a very special part of your wedding day memories.

We are delighted to create your Wedding Cake to include a variety of flavors. Please keep in mind however, it is easier to serve a cake with several different flavors if it is not a stacked cake.  We would recommend using no more than two flavors choices in your cake.   If you have too many choices, your guests may decide to sample more flavors leaving you with not enough cake.

The Cake Top and
Your 1st Year Anniversary

Wedding cake, top layer Well, most brides and grooms know this tradition... you take the top of the cake and put it in your freezer and eat it together on your one year anniversary. Unless you absolutely don't care what the cake tastes like, we would suggest forgoing this old tradition and start a new one. When it comes time for your first year anniversary, call your baker and order the same top that you had on your wedding cake. One married couple, selects a different wedding cake each year to celebrate their wedding anniversary.  How romantic! Another alternative, is to carefully wrap your cake top and place it in a plastic, airtight container and then put it in the freezer and eat when you get back from your honeymoon. Maybe during an intimate one-month anniversary celebration.

Working on a tight budget?

Some brides prefer a smaller display cake with sheet cakes in the back of the house to serve a larger reception of 150 or more.

The Groom's Cake

Groom's cake The groom's cake is supposed to be a gift from the bride to the groom. This cake is usually dark chocolate or deep chocolate fudge. Sometimes the groom's cake is served at the reception as an alternative or second desert choice. However, the groom's cake has made a recent comeback. It has shown up as dessert at the rehearsal dinner.

Cake Placement at your Reception

Where will your cake(s) be placed in the reception area? Consult the reception site consultant as well as your cake person. Look at the walls and consider the background for your wedding pictures when planning where the cake(s) will be placed. Are there fire extinguishers, plugs, restroom signs, and etc. in the background of your cake placement?
Other things you might want to consider at the reception site are how the traffic flow will be handled. Are the tables sturdy enough to hold the cake(s)? Does the reception site have tables and table coverings? The Sisters have seen poor placement detract from the beauty of the cake.
